Had a Saturday night birthday party of 16 people. They took good care of us! They allowed me to bring in a cake and balloons earlier in the day & brought them out while we were there to celebrate my sister in law's birthday. For a party larger than 15 people, you must put down a $600 advance deposit which is applied to your bill and is the minimum spend for your group. They have an 1 check only policy for large groups so someone should be prepared to foot the bill & have the other party members pay them directly. There are ~ 60 seats in the place so our group of 15 plus another large party took up most of the space. The band was very good, it was Danielle Cellise & band. They did a great job playing current & past R&B. Throughout the night they gave multiple shoutouts to the people celebrating birthdays & anniversaries which made our birthday girl feel very special. The lights stayed pretty bright for night time. I was told they would go down later in the evening but they stayed the same from 7:30pm to10:00pm So sorry I can't recall our server's name. She was personable & attentive to our large group. The drinks were good. The Henney side car was alcohol forward & tasty as was the long island iced tea. One person thought the margarita was light on the alcohol, but everyone else seemed to like their drinks. On to the food: Blackened catfish. Cooked just right. Comes fried but they let me get it blackened Greens were good. Had a little subtle kick. More meat than I prefer so I was busy trying to find the greens but others may like the meat. Broccoli - nicely done with garlic & butter. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food. No complaints. I worked with Amy to make the group reservation. It took a few phone calls to finally connect with her. Once I got her number, I was able to text questions & receive answers. I recommend it for a group gathering!

Came here for our anniversary brunch, and left satisfied and filled with love. Decided to try the crawfish etouffé, it had a great cajun blend, burst of flavor, and so well done when paired with rice. We also got the shrimp and grits and it was a MUST TRY. The staff was so nice and welcoming, it was great classics playing, and the overall ambiance was great. Definitely will be back!

This place is an entertainment hub with very good food. It has an interesting set up with the business split into two concepts. Phil and Derek has separate entrances one for the restaurant another for the lounge next door. My last visit was for a birthday party with 17 participants. The staff and management were excellent with handling our seating showing flexibility with our group bringing in cake and decorations. Everyone ordered from the menu and the food arrived in an expected timeframe and it was very good. I had Red Fish with red beans and rice. The fish was excellent but the beans and rice could have had more flavor for my taste. They had live entertainment which was a treat, excellent music in a relaxed environment. My most recent visit was my second and have not been disappointed and don't expect to be.

It's a nice brunch spot and good place to get some good soul food & drinks. It will be lively, but there's plenty of space and not crowded, which I appreciate. I also like the fact you can make reservations. We came on a Saturday night where they had live music in one area, and a DJ in another. Because it was date night for us and I really wanted to be able to drink, eat and chat - we opted for the area where the DJ was. Pros Good food Good drinks Great music Easy reservations Ample of space Cons It's a bit too loud where the live music. It's not a super large area so it doesn't have to be. I felt like the music was in my throat, and having a conversation is not possible Valet parking is available and not overly priced either. We paid $10. I'll definitely be back.

My friend and I arrived at Phil & Derek's for Saturday brunch on September 16th. They have a large parking lot with plenty of parking so that shouldn't be an issue. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and seated on the extensive patio area that can comfortably accommodate at least 100 people. We sat under the covered portion of the patio near the fans. VIBE (5/5): Live R&B music, DJ's, hookah, friendly staff, beautiful decor, what more can you ask for? FOOD (5/5): My friend and I both ordered the blackened catfish and grits with potatoes. Everything was seasoned and properly cooked. I highly recommend this dish. DRINKS (4/5): We both initially ordered individual mimosas, but the juice to champagne ratio was slightly off, so we ordered a bottle of champagne so that we could make them ourselves (98% champagne and 2% juice) :) My overall rating of this restaurant is 5/5. The staff is friendly, no wait time, great music and amazing food. Take my word for it and go check them out for yourself.
